Residential Subdivision, Woodbury, Vermont - WES delineated wetlands, determined impacts to wetland buffer zone, completed a functional evaluation of wetlands and completed a Conditional Use Determination Application.

 

Citizens Utilities, Highgate, Vermont - WES delineated wetlands to make the installation of 4 new utility poles possible without the need for filing a Conditional Use Determination (CUD) application.

 

Town of Cabot, Vermont - WES delineated wetlands for constructing of a new wastewater treatment facility.  A CUD application was completed by WES and approved by the Agency of Natural Resources.

 

Green Mountain Engineering, North Walpole, New Hampshire - WES Delineated wetlands for the upgrade of the North Walpole water system and determined that no wetland impacts would be made by the completion of the project.

 

Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont - WES guided a parking lot expansion project through an extensive regulatory permitting process with the Agency of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and was incremental in achieving approval for the project.

Otter Creek Engineering, Middlebury, Vermont - WES delineated wetlands for constructing of a new recycling center.  A CUD application was completed by WES and approved by the Agency of Natural Resources.

 

Town of Stowe, Vermont -  WES delineated wetlands for constructing of a recreational garage addition.  A CUD application was completed by WES and approved by the Agency of Natural Resources.

 

Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe, Vermont - WES delineated wetlands, and helped plan and develop measures to minimize wetland impact and maintain existing wetlands for a development project on 60 acres of land.

 

UVM Bio Research Complex, Burlington, Vermont - WES delineated wetlands in areas marked for potential use in constructing a 15,000 square foot building.

 

Town of Williston, Vermont - WES delineated wetlands for a housing development  project and used GPS to supply the project surveyors with wetland detailed locations.

USTs (back to top)

 

Residential Property, Stowe, Vermont - WES discovered soil contamination while closing two 2,000-gallon USTs and completed an Initial Site Investigation.  Two rounds of groundwater sampling were conducted and the Site showed significant decrease in contamination.  The site was assigned closed status by the State and the contingent sale of the property proceeded.

 

Copley Hospital, Morrisville, Vermont - WES performed a site assessment for the replacement of UST piping.  Completed the removal of a small amount of contaminated soil.

 

Town of Corinth, Vermont - WES discovered soil contamination while closing a 1,000-gallon UST and completed an Initial Site Investigation.  The initial round of groundwater sampling showed that the groundwater had not been impacted by the contamination and the site was closed.

 

Mt. Mansfield Company, Stowe, Vermont - Closed #2 UST, found to be leaking at the MMCo Base lodge.  Completed ISI, clean, closed, SMAC.

 

Town of Strafford, Vermont - Closed 2 diesel tanks.  Found contamination from previous tanks, ISI completed and after 2 rounds of groundwater sample, ISI is ongoing.  Conducted extensive sensitive receptor survey

Housing Vermont, Warren, Vermont - WES completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) to advance the purchase of the property by the Central Vermont Community Land Trust.


Mascoma Savings Bank, Rockingham, Vermont - WES completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment of The Inn At Cranberry Farm property to aid in its transaction to a new owner.


Middlebury Area Land Trust, Middlebury, Vermont - WES completed a Phase I ESA on 112 acres of land bisected by the Middlebury River.  WES identified asbestos containing materials (acm) on the Site and provided recommendations for removal and disposal.


Orange North Supervisory Union, Willimastown, Vermont - WES completed a Phase II ESA of a property adjacent to the Williamstown High School.  This included completing soil borings and soil sampling.  The results of this assessment averted a purchase of contaminated property by the High School.


VT Land Trust, Cambridge, Vermont - WES completed a Phase I ESA of a 1,000+ acre property.  A Phase II and Phase III ESAs were completed for a portion of the property where soil contamination was discovered under an AST.  The contaminated soil was removed and stockpiled on the property where the contamination would naturally attenuate.

Barre Housing Authority, Barre, Vermont - WES completed an asbestos inspection to prepare for building renovations. 

 

 

Town of Danville, Vermont - WES completed an asbestos inspection and coordinated the abatement process to prepare for the renovation of the Town Hall in Danville.

 

 

Norwich Fire Department, Vermont - WES completed an asbestos inspection on a vacant building to prepare it for a practice burn.

 

 

Rockingham Area Community Land Trust, Proctorsville, Vermont - WES completed an asbestos inspection and coordinated the abatement process to prepare for the renovation of the Pollard Block Building.

 

 

VT State Housing Authority, Greensboro, Vermont - WES completed an asbestos inspection and coordinated the abatement process to prepare for apartment building renovations.

J.A. McDonald, Shelburne, Vermont - WES completed a soils evaluation to determine the existence of Primary Agricultural Soils, and provided a means to complete the project by producing a plan to retain the site's agricultural potential.

 

 

O’Brien Brothers, South Burlington, Vermont - WES completed a soils evaluation to determine the existence of Primary Agricultural Soils, and provided expert witness testimony for an Act 250 hearing.

 

 

Pike Industries, Inc., Williamstown, Vermont - WES completed a soils evaluation to determine the existence of Primary Agricultural Soils and a mitigation design for the development of a stone quarry.

 

 

Trudell Construction Engineers, Williston, Vermont - WES provided a Primary Agricultural Soils evaluation and mitigation planning for the Williston Sand Pit.

Gravel and Shea, Richmond, Vermont - WES provided Section 248 permitting services for the Vermont Public Service Board for the installation of a cellular antenna.

 

 

Residential Property, Plainfield, Vermont - WES performed a soil investigation in the basement of the on-site house and Initial Site Investigation , where the owners suspected a release of fuel oil.  WES is currently scheduled to complete removal of contaminated soils from the site.

 

 

Suburban Energy Products, Montpelier, Vermont - WES performed soil clean-up and an Initial Site Investigation at a residence where a release of fuel oil occurred during a UST closure.  Investigation of the groundwater at the site is ongoing.
